Reno Reinvention

Reno Reinvention - Food, Music, Art

Once a haven for gamblers and divorcees, the “biggest little city in the world” now buzzes with an eclectic and vibrant food, music and arts scene. While you’ll still find casinos on the landscape, the reinvented Reno is a true foodie and art destination alive with farm-to-fork restaurants, grain-to-glass gastro bars, craft breweries, new distilleries, art galleries and cool music clubs. Our Hyatt Place staff is happy to give you ideas on where to play, eat and groove in the Reno area.

Reno - A New Foodie Town

The local food movement is infused into the culinary fabric of Reno, which boasts some amazing soil-to-city eateries. Enjoy farm-fresh foods, beef from local ranches and heavenly house-made breads at Reno Provisions. Indulge in local heritage pork, grass-fed beef and craft beer from a brewery five miles away at Heritage. The Reno gastro vibe is all about fresh, local seasonal foods.

Reno Riverwalk District Dining

The “new downtown”, Reno's Riverwalk District is a lively dining destination lined with cool restaurants, pubs, tap houses and wine bars. The riverfront is also a haven for music festivals and food events, including the Dine The District Food Tour and Wine Walk on the third Saturday of each month, from 2 to 5 PM. For only $20 you can sample pours at 27 restaurants, lounges and bars. Check out wonderful eateries, including Campo, Antonio’s, Imperial Bar & Lounge, Reef Sushi & Saki and Noble Pie.

Craft Breweries and Distilleries

Reno offers a hip craft beer and booze culture, with new breweries and distilleries popping up around town, including Silver Peak Restaurant and Brewery and Brews Brothers. Housed in an old railway building, the Depot Craft Brewery Distillery is a casual gastropub that serves eclectic pub fare and craft beer made in house. Stop by the Great Basin Brewing Company for their Ichthyosaur India Pale Ale and say "Gimme an Ichy.”

Reno Art Scene

The cornerstone of Reno’s art energy is the Nevada Museum of Art. The state's only accredited museum houses an impressive collection of landscapes and contemporary and western art and ever-changing exhibits. Stroll along the Riverwalk along the Truckee River, with beautiful sculptures and murals that celebrate the city’s artistic transformation. Shop for amazing original art at the Sierra Memorial Abstract Art Gallery and Reno Press Studio 3.

The Music Scene

Reno offers a creative music and performing arts energy. Enjoy concerts and Broadway shows at the Pioneer Theater and live stage performances and plays at the Brüka Theatre. Music lovers can enjoy local and national bands at the Knitting Factory Concert House, Studio on 4th, Cargo and The Terrace.
